Sam Carter founded Cap Picks after years of answering the same question for friends and family: “what’s the best one I can get for this much?” Sam writes and edits every buying guide on the site, sets the test criteria described on How We Pick, and runs the 90-day refresh that keeps each guide’s picks under the cap.
Before Cap Picks, Sam spent a decade in product research and e-commerce content, comparing specifications across thousands of listings and learning which claims hold up and which do not. That background is why every guide here cross-checks the manufacturer’s spec sheet rather than trusting the listing, and why the one-star reviews get read before the five-star ones.
