Cap Picks is a buying guide for people who shop with a number in mind. Every article here starts the same way: we set a price cap, then go find the best thing you can buy under it.
Why a price cap
Most review sites rank the best product in a category and leave you to work out whether you can afford it. We think the budget comes first. “Best pillow” is a different question from “best pillow under $50”, and the second one is the question most people are actually asking. So every roundup on this site is built around a cap or a specific need, and every pick is judged against that cap, not against a $400 flagship.
What we cover
We publish buying guides across 19 categories, from sleep and pet care to kitchen, audio, home office, fitness, TVs and laptops. Each category has its own hub page that explains what matters, what to skip, and which of our guides answers your question. Guides are refreshed when prices move, products are discontinued, or a better option arrives.
How we make money
Cap Picks is reader-supported. When you click a product link and buy something on Amazon, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions never influence which products we recommend or where they rank; our affiliate disclosure and editorial policy explain exactly how that separation works.
Who writes this
Cap Picks is written and edited by Sam Carter. You can read more on the authors page, see our test criteria on How We Pick, or get in touch if you think we got something wrong.
